First World War Historical Path to Pelister and Info Centre

Coordinates : 41.039648, 21.221272

The First World War Historical Trail begins with the Info Centre in Pelister. This information centre houses a museum on the fauna and flora of the natural park and the events of the First World War, as well as a souvenir shop. Above all, it is the indispensable place to organize your activities in the park, from a simple walk to a multi-day hike with nights in the shelters. The centre has maps, provides good advice with thematic itineraries (churches, World War I battlefields, children's visits, etc.) and puts visitors in touch with the Pelister Guides agency.

Since its independence in 1991, the name of the country as inscribed in the Macedonian Constitution is "Republic of Macedonia". Nevertheless, and for the purposes of recognition by international organisations and their Member States, the country has agreed to use the designation "former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia". It is under this name that the French Republic has recognised this State. On this website, for convenience of language, "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" is referred to as the "Republic of Macedonia" or "Macedonia". This does not represent the position of France or Normandy.
